My Story

Polished by Christina began during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

In June 2025, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. After a double mastectomy, I went through 5 months of chemotherapy, followed by weeks of radiation. I am still currently going through treatment today, continuing to do everything I can to reduce my risk of reoccurrence.

As I went through chemotherapy, I experienced something I knew was coming but wasn't prepared for- I lost my hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes. These little things that had always made me feel feminine were suddenly gone.

Before I started treatment, my friends and family came over and made bracelets for me with encouraging words and messages. I wore them throughout treatment as little reminders to stay strong, remember how loved I was, and know that I wasn't alone in this scary journey. I still wear them today when I need that extra encouragement.

Looking in the mirror, swollen and hairless, I didn't recognize myself. I felt like "me" had been taken away. I felt insecure and wondered if people were staring. Along the way, I started to wear jewelry, and it became more than an accessory to me. Putting on a necklace or a pair of earrings helped me feel feminine, more put together, more like myself while going through something so difficult.

This experience is what inspired Polished by Christina.

Now I create jewelry with the hope that it can give someone else a little bit of that same feeling- to help them feel beautiful through whatever hard time they may be going through. I hope you find a piece here that makes you feel beautiful when you put it on.

Before you go, don't forget- you're beautiful!

xoxo,

Christina
